Accepting this setting for X5, and with the settings for X1, X2, X3, already obtained, the operator tried to set X4 by the highest count of 9, U and 5; then by the highest count of J and 0; then using /; then using G and Z. Only the / run proved effective. He next assumed the five wheels were set correctly and made the 32 letter count shown on the next page. |
